Protect Your Play with Paintball Goggles

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Growing in popularity, paintball is not always a risk-free sport. There are definitely a number of places where you want to be protected from the impact of the paintball. The spraying or seeping liquid from exploded paintballs can also pose a hazard, which is especially true for the facial area.In particular, you want to be sure that you protect yourself during play with paintball goggles.

Paintball goggles come in a variety of designs to suit any face type or play environment. There are models that fit around the eye area only, and models that effectively cover the whole face and neck area.Your level of preferred protection is entirely up to you.

If you engage in very athletic play, you may be interested in goggle systems that cover the whole face in a washable mask. This can ensure that your eyes are completely protected even as you run and turn, while also allowing you to keep your equipment clean and fresh between tournaments. The seamless protection also ensures that nothing from your equipment will snag on the course, which can be important on rough fields.

Competitive players can also opt for matte finishes on their goggles, cutting down on glare.Specialty goggles offer further protection as well as individualized style on the playing field, so that you can have flair and protection.

Whatever your preferred style for paintball goggles, the important thing is to remember to bring them with you to the course to avoid injury.Injuries from paintball related activities average 45 per 10,000 players, and many of these injuries are in the eye area from recoil or spatter. Thus, you will want to be sure to play safely so that you can stay injury free and continue to play as long as you like.

Why Liverpool Rocks

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

It is no secret that Liverpool FC rocks. If you don’t believe in this assertion, you just need to check out Internet statics on the number of people looking for videos of the team – and realize that there are hundreds of thousands of people doing this each year. Matches where the team is playing tend to draw very high numbers of spectators. And this is one of the teams with a considerable following, even outside the United Kingdom.

There are a number of reasons, as to why this team still rocks. One is that it is one of the few medium-sized teams that tend to offer ‘any real challenge’ to the ‘bigger boys’ of the league: Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. In a match where the team is playing against one of these ‘big teams’, one cannot afford to assume that the winner is obvious: for this is a team that has been known to put serious fights against even the biggest of the teams.

Second is that it has a memorable past. Many people in the rest of the world (beyond the UK) where introduced to the English premiership when the fortunes of this team had dwindled. But the truth of the matter is that many years ago, it was one of the biggest teams in the premiership (in terms of wins).

And thirdly, it is a team that by all indications, still has a ‘future.’

Martial Arts Training

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Having the right martial art equipment is a very important part of your coaching regimen.

When I first commenced coaching, I had no kung fu skills gear in the slightest. I used to do lots of drills without self-defense skills sparring kit even full on fighting as a part of my coaching.

This was alright for some time, and it looked like I could get on fine without any martial art kit in any way.

I had some loose sweats, and my tennis shoes, and I was good to go. Sure, I might get knocked about the face from time to time, because I had no gloves or other martial art gear, but a bruise here and there did not appear to be such a big score to me. I was knocked out by a roundhouse kick to the face. I was convinced that I was alright and could just shake it off, but it seems I had a bad concussion. To finish it off, I broke my arm in the autumn. I was laid up for many weeks from my wounds, and let me tell you, that was no fun in any way. If I had been practicing, using correct martial art kit, I doubt if I would’ve been hurt in any way. Sure, it is possible to be injured, even with all the karate skills coaching and kung fu skills hardware in the world, but it sure is a load less likely than without it. Remember, your health is the most vital thing that you have. You should not put it in jeopardy because you wish to save a buck or 2. That sort of risk-taking behaviour is just simply moronic, if you ask me. Naturally, martial art apparatus isn’t just safety kit. Plenty of the normal costumes employed in the fighting humanities are necessary to show your rank and capability. As well as this, there are plenty of martial arts that use weapons as an element of their coaching. Really, like in any other discipline, you want the right weapons. The better your martial art kit is, the better your coaching and competition is.
